Globally, in excess of 1.3 billion* tons of waste are produced annually, of which 400 million* tons are hazardous, representing 60 kg for every person on the planet. Responsible treatment and disposal rates are on average 20-25% total volume produced. In China, a mere 15% hazardous waste is treated responsibly. (*Source: World Bank)
